Australian Learning and Teaching Council Citations & Awards

The Australian Learning and Teaching Council (formerly Carrick Institute) was launched in August 2004 with the explicit aim of promoting and advancing learning and teaching in Australian higher education. The Institute's core activities include the awarding of grants and fellowships, as well as awards for university teaching.

Teaching Awards and Grants Support. Staff interested in participating in any of the ALTC awards and grants programs are welcome to submit an expression of interest, or may be invited to submit an expression of interest, at designated times during the calendar year. (Refer to internal deadlines below. Internal deadlines are normally six to eight weeks prior to final submission to the ALTC to allow time for drafting, editing and administration of applications.)

The Teaching Awards and Grants Committee (TAGC) is responsible for recommending to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor & Vice-President (Academic) those University staff it feels qualify for an ALTC award, grant or fellowship.  According to ALTC guidelines, only with the approval of the DVC&VP(A) or his delegate can an application be submitted from the University to the ALTC.
