Head Collaboration Agreement (HCA) | Governance | Staff Guidelines
The University of Adelaide has more than 200 pathways available from TAFE qualifications into undergraduate programs. Students who have completed a designated TAFE qualification for which an articulation agreement exists are granted an agreed amount of credit upon application.
Please note: eligibility for credit does not guarantee admission to the University of Adelaide.
More information about the application and admission process is available from Student Admissions TAFE Applicants website. The University's current Admissions Policy outlines the principles and procedures regarding TAFE minimum requirements when applying for a University program. A Pathways & Credit Transfer Guide is also available outlining the arrangements between the University of Adelaide and TAFE.
Head Collaborative Agreement (HCA)
The Head Collaboration Agreement has been negotiated between the University and the Minister for Employment, Training and Further Education (TAFE SA) to help develop more pathways for students with closer collaboration on programs, curriculum and delivery. New partnerships will help to widen access to rural and remote students and increase participation.
The HCA will facilitate collaboration across many activities where appropriate and beneficial linkages exist, some of which include: access to facilities, joint curriculum development and student cross institutional participation.
The articulation pathways are based Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) Qualifications Pathways Policy and the University's Academic Credit Arrangements Policy.
Staff at the University of Adelaide are encouraged to consider qualification connections with TAFE SA wherever appropriate, with aim of enhancing student progression into and between AQF qualifications.
Governance
The Strategic Management Committee (SMC) is an advisory committee chaired by and reporting to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President (Academic). The SMC maintains oversight of the collaboration plan which aligns to strategic objectives, actions and KPIs.
The Operations Management Committee (OMC) implements decisions of the SMC.
The Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President (Academic) recommends that any binding agreements between the two institutions have separate contractual negotiations, including terms relating to ownership and the use of intellectual property, financial arrangements, use of resources and any other issues as relevant. If you would like assistance with TAFE agreements or more information, please contact the TAFE Articulation Coordinator Anna Dearman.
Staff Guidelines
The Staff Guidelines have been prepared to provide staff from each institution seeking to enter into Qualification Connection Agreements.
If you have any queries concerning the guidelines or the terms of the HCA, please contact the VET Project Coordinator, Anna Dearman.
