Sustainability Assessments

These assessments are conducted by Ecoversity for schools and branches, looking to make their workplace more sustainable.

We come to you and work with your group to find ways and means of reducing your workplace resource footprint.  

Sustainability Assessments look at a range of business practices and processes. Things like;

• energy efficiency of machinery, fittings and appliances,
• water reduction and reuse opportunities,   
• paper reduction strategies,
• sustainable purchasing options,
• vehicle efficiency,
• air and water quality,
• recycling opportunities...and much more!

"School of Civil, Environmental and Mining Engineering - leading the way!"

Ecoversity recently completed a pilot project of the newly developed Sustainability Assessment Tool with the School of Civil, Environmental and Mining Engineering. Designed to inform participants of their progress towards becoming an environmentally sustainable operational group, it provides suggestions for business improvements and efficiencies. The assessment also identifies any areas of potential non-compliance with current environmental legislation.
 
How does it work?

Stage one: Site visit
A site visit is undertaken to familiarise Ecoversity with the scope of activities of the group (i.e. research focused with experiments and field activity vs. office based group focussing on teaching), current environmental practices and the desire of the group to become more sustainable.  A walk-round of the facility is completed and areas of interest identified and discussed.

Stage two: Presentation to management
The Ecoversity team present preliminary results/progress of the assessment to members of the group.

Stage three: Final report
A final report is produced with results of the assessment and recommendations in the form of an Environmental Improvement Plan.
