Addressing Candidature Problems

GPA Calculation Information

The GPA is the average of the grades obtained in all courses, weighted by the unit value of each course. Students enrolled in more than one program, you will have a GPA for each, calculated using the final grades of the courses associated with each program.

Higher Degree By Research Service Delivery Project

In 2009, the University, as part of its Service Excellence Program, undertook a review of HDR recruitment and completions. After approval by VCC, this project morphed into the HDR Service Excellence Program.


ORBIT

The Operational Research Business Information Tool (ORBIT) is a web-based system that provides staff with a detailed view of research activities. The Student Profiles module provides reports designed to assist in the management of Higher Degree by Research (HDR) students from application through to completion of their candidature.

Postgraduate Coordinators

Research Education and Development Committee (REDC)

REDC is in charge of research higher degree policy development, and has legal responsibility for the award of the degrees of Doctor of Philosophy and Masters by research.

Supervisor Register

Commencing April 2007 the Academic Board has approved the introduction of a Register of Supervisors who have met the necessary requirements to supervise HDR students at the University of Adelaide.
