Dunstan legacy marked, 10 years on

A Norwood function marks 10 years since the death of former South Australian Premier Don Dunstan. Claire Bossley from the Don Dunstan Foundation, based at the University of Adelaide, says his legacy remains. "The most visible sign of it is the Festival Centre but he created so many other things," she said. "He made the first environment department in Australia, for example, he did the first Aboriginal land rights legislation in Australia and that was right back in 1966, even before the referendum." Don's Party is the first of a series of events planned in 2009 to commemorate one of the most visionary premiers in Australia's history.

Service Excellence Program - Recruitment Excellence Project

As part of the Recruitment Excellence Program of work, Human Resources in conjunction with Service Excellence Program, is currently undertaking detailed analysis and research into the University's current recruitment practices to inform the development of a Recruitment Excellence framework as outlined in the current Human Resources Strategic Plan.

This framework will support and enhance the recruitment, attraction and retention of people capable of delivering the research and teaching objectives of the University.

Three surveys have been distributed to a variety of stakeholders in the University. Specifically, 'Recent Appointments' to the University, 'Recruiting Stakeholders' and individuals who have left the University in the last 12 months.

The responses to these surveys will greatly influence the recruitment framework implemented by the University of Adelaide. Your responses are highly valued and will form a key component of this program of work.

The administration of the survey process has been outsourced to a third party provider, PKF, to ensure the confidentiality of responses.

If you receive a survey and have any questions about the process, please contact Scott Way, Managing Director PKF on (08) 7421 1400 or Lucy Maynard, Recruitment Services Manager, University of Adelaide on 8303 8006.
