• Improved student email service to be powered by Google Applications from 16 March 2009.

• From 10 December University account holders with a standard ITS image on their desktop will no longer need to enter a username and password to access the Internet.

• New IT Acceptable Use and Security Policy has been approved which replaces all previous IT policies, procedures and guidelines.

• Important information about your password and its security has been emailed to all staff.

• The Desktop Excellence Project has been launched.
  
• Datacom is new University preferred desktop and laptop supplier.

• New Data Centre
  ITS has commenced moving infrastructure into the new $2.5m state of the art datacentre, which provides very high availability power and cooling infrastructure essential to underpin the robust IT services the University needs.
  
• Wireless Network improvements
  ITS has recently upgraded the University of Adelaide's wireless network to a more user friendly, secure and reliable network known as 'UofA'.  Coverage has also improved across several campuses.
  
• The University's wireless network has recently been upgraded in both its coverage and ease of use. Of particular interest to staff who travel will be the new global roaming facility using  'eduroam'.
  
• ITS has moved
  As part of the University's strategic development plan which includes 22 relocations and affects approximately 670 people, ITS moved to 9 Gawler Place on 18/06/2007.
