New Instruments at AM!
The future looks bright for trace element analysis at Adelaide Microscopy.
It has arrived! The new Electron Microprobe is currently being installed. Funding for the new Probe was awarded in the last round of ARC LIEF led by Prof. Joel Brugger from Earth and Environmental Sciences and the SA Museum.
We have recently seen the arrival of a new 193nm Excimer Laser Ablation system and ICP-MS. This new Laser Ablation system will be configured for trace element and isotope mapping, an exciting and emerging technique.
Optical microscopy has also received a boost with the installation of a Second Harmonic Generation Multiphoton Microscope, LaVision Biotec TriM Scope II. Led by Dr Tak Kee from the School of Chemistry and Physics this unique imaging technique adds to the range of advanced fluorescence optical techniques in the centre.
