Systems Thinking in Practice

Practical Tools to Enhance Executive Decision-making

Adelaide Please contact us to register your interest Download Brochure

NEW PROGRAM : Guest International Presenter

The issues facing both private and public organisations are extremely complex, and yet we are often surprised when solutions and decisions to address these issues fail to “solve” the problem. Indeed we all know cases when the solution made the problem worse!

Systems thinking is a way of helping you view organisational systems from a broad perspective that includes seeing overall structures, patterns and cycles in systems, rather than seeing only specific events in the system. This broad view can help you to quickly identify the real causes of issues in organisations and know just where to work to address them.

Systems thinking in practice is based on the ideas raised by Peter Senge in his book on Learning Organisations, the Fifth Discipline. Harvard Business Review identified it as one of the seminal management books of the last 75 years. The program will give you a practical understanding of how you can apply systems thinking to your organisation.

“Systems thinking is a discipline for seeing wholes. It is a framework for seeing interrelationships rather than things, for seeing patterns of change rather that static snapshots” Peter Senge

Who should attend

This two-day management development program is designed for managers and leaders who want to enhance their thinking and use the practical application of Systems Thinking to improve the outcomes of complex problem solving.

Learning outcomes

This dynamic, hands on program will provide participants with a framework to:

  • Asses and address organisational structures that hinder performance and cause failure.
  • Apply these principles in better understanding organisation issues and problems.
  • Follow a step by step process for applying system tools in organisational problem solving.
