Australian Graduate Survey

Strategy and Planning is responsible for the coordination of data from the Australian Graduate Survey (AGS) for the University of Adelaide.  The survey data informs policy formulation, strategic planning and quality improvement initiatives for the University.

The Australian Graduate Survey (AGS) is an annual survey of university graduates that was developed by GCA, and is administered by universities to their graduates on behalf of GCA. The AGS includes the Graduate Destination Survey (GDS), the Course Experience Questionnaire (CEQ) and the Postgraduate Research Experience Questionnaire (PREQ). All graduates receive the GDS as part of the survey. In addition, graduates who completed an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework program receive the CEQ, while graduates who completed a postgraduate research program receive the PREQ. The national results of the AGS are published by GCA, reported in the Good Universities Guide, and used to allocate the Learning and Teaching Performance Fund.

Previous reports on the results of the AGS for the University of Adelaide can be found here.

Information on surveys within the University is available here.

Graduate Careers Australia

Graduate Careers Australia (GCA) is a peak body with representatives from employers, universities and government.

GCA is a not-for-profit company that has been in existence for 40 years. Its board has senior representatives from Universities Australia, Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations and the National Association of Graduate Careers Advisory Services (NAGCAS).

GCA promotes and fosters employment and career opportunities for graduates from higher education institutions, provides high quality careers education products and services, researches first destinations and salaries of graduates and interprets trends in employment with special reference to graduate employment. In particular, GCA conducts the Australian Graduate Survey, an annual survey that collects information on the experiences and destinations of university graduates.

The GCA website has information about graduate careers and employment for students and graduates including an all-in-one job vacancy search, industry career profiles, Careers Service contacts, résumé and job application writing tips, interview strategies and information about further study.

A summary of research findings can also be found in summary publications, GradFiles & GradStats.
